Guidelines to follow as an operator in our channel in order not to abuse your status.
1. Be courteous to other users.
2. Warn an offender before kicking. Not necessary if there seems to be a deliberate attempt to abuse or offend. Use your best judgement.
3. NEVER deop or kick another op in the channel.
4. NEVER have an argument with another op in the main channel.
5. NEVER immediately unban a user that has been banned by another op without checking with the other op first.
6. Be talkative and friendly.
7. Kick only if there seems to be a deliberate attempt at offending others.
8. CLONING: If there is a clone in the channel, and it's required to kick the clone, ALWAYS kick the earlier nicks. This is because Nick2 could be the real person, while Nick1 could be a ghost.
9. LOGS: It might be a good idea if ops log channel events. It is not necessary to keep accumulating the logs. If a day's happenings seem to have been uneventful, the logs can be deleted at the end of the day, or after a few days. Keeping logs is not a requirement, though.
10. AKICKS: If there is a repeat offender who is required to be kept out of the channel, inform, memo, or email a SOp, or the SOps, with the offender's nickname, full ip address, and reason for requesting an akick.
