The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy directed by Peter Jackson, is in my opinion one of the greatest (if not the greatest) achievment in motion picture history. Bringing the adventure to the big screen in three extensive chapters, these movies capture the spirit of the stories by Tolkien in an entertaining & cinematic way. Both versions of each movie (the Theatrical Versions & the Extended Versions) are masterpieces, but the extended versions are by far superior.
What are some of your opinions, likes, & dislikes about the movie trilogy?

The movies were great....but I don't think Tom Bombadil liked them very much.

Well, they wanted Tom to be there, but they just couldn't figure where to put him and be able to retain the flow of the story. They paid homage to him though in extended Two Towers, when Treebeard has to help the hobbits Merry and Pipin with a little problem their having.

I loved the movies okay, I liked the books better. I felt dizzy thru some of it, and the length got to be too much. The visuals were stunning and the acting was amazing. My fav thing about the movie were in my opinion, the hobbits!

Yeah, they did do a good job on the hobbits. I also really liked the elves, & orcs. But the thing that I thought they did the best on was definently Gollum. He's still the most life-like computer generated creation that I've seen to date. The performance of Andy Serkis helped that factor alot though.
As for the length, I would have enjoyed it more if they were even longer! After seeing the theatrical versions, I was craving more of each film. I must be quite an obsessive fan. ;D The extended versions helped that craving alot , with their more in-depth additions.
